Bug:
On the quick view page, if you try to export as a .doc file, FIrefox tries to save as a .bin file instead. This does not happen from the export icon on the main invoice page and xls downloads are fine also.
thanks mrembedded
the fix has just been checked in will be in next beta

Bug:
Small one. If you add additional rows to an invoice and you type in the note area of that added row shows text in grey and not black like the default rows do.
The Payment Processing screen is difficult to use (I'm using Firefox on Linux):
- It refers to the main invoice ID field and not the numbering group, this is confusing once you've created several documents. Perhaps there should be an 'Invoice Preference' selector on this screen.
- If I select the wrong invoice by mistake I don't seem to be able to select the one I want without clicking 'Cancel' and starting again.
In Invoice Preferences the document description and numbering groups should have a check to prevent them from being changed after the first document of each type has been created, otherwise this can lead to duplication, for example:
- I assigned document type 'Invoice' to the Invoice numbering group.
- I assigned document type 'Quote' to the Quote numbering group.
- I created 3 Invoices ('Invoice 1', 'Invoice 2' and 'Invoice 3') and 1 Quote ('Quote 1').
- I then switched document type 'Invoice' to the Quote numbering group.
- Wwhen I created a new Invoice it was assigned the next free number in the Quote numbering group i.e. '2'. So I now have 2 invoices with the ID 'Invoice 2'.
I think the best way to make a payment is to go to the invoice list and then quick view the invoice that needs to be paid and then pay it from there. That way you can't choose the wrong one and you can see what the balance on that invoice is.
You are right about the fact that there does not seem to be enough validation and protection but I'm sure it will all be improved as the project progresses.
@Nick
re payments
- re invoice numbering - thanks - i forgot to change this section re the new invoice numbering groups will
-- will get it fixed
re payments being hard to do
- yep - its not the best - was done ages ago by me and needs to be redone
re invoice numbering duplicates
- agreed - could get ugly - will think about this and add some validation in so can't be changed it causes a problem
have added these to our todo list http://code.google.com/p/simpleinvoices/wiki/todo
cheers
