Support: Broken link in the help menu

    When you are hovering over the ? in the navigation menu at the top right and click directly on the "About +" an internal server error is generated (error 500).

    Just curious - Was anyone able to reproduce this error?

    Tried and I was unsuccessful at reproducing this.

    You clicked on the "About +" and not the "About", right? When i hover over the "about +" the URL is:

    index.php?module=documentation/inline_docs&view=about

    Whereas, all of the links in the submenu are:
    docs.php?p=about

    or

    docs.php?p=ChangeLog

    ...etc..

    I am pretty sure this is causing my error..

    No I clicked on both just to see what would happen. I could not get the error to occur. A couple screen shots may help to see what is happening on your end. Are you running this on a Windows web server?

    Where do i go to get beta 1? I'm having trouble finding it on the site...

    What are your thoughts on expanding the download "area" so that it's not linked straight to the zip, but instead gives people download options, with sections for Stable Releases (with past versions listed), Beta Releases, etc...

    a download area is available at: http://code.google.com/p/simpleinvoices/downloads/list

    older releases are availabe from sourceforge.net

    i have specify linked to the .zip directly on the front page - download section - to make the process easier as 99% of people will want the most current stable release
    - having lots of different files available for download makes the process more complex than required

    First, to answer the question about the link in the help menu - I tested it on the demo you have installed, as that is the beta 1 version, and instead of going to anything related to "About" SI, it goes to the main (welcome) page. Just to recap, i'm clicking on "About +" in the help mouseover dropdown menu, NOT "About > About" ... if you follow... Clicking on "Help +" brings you to the beginning of the help page, which makes sense.

    With regard to the download area - i agree that it should be as easy and quick as possible to download the software. However, the trouble i have with the current arrangement is that it is difficult (actually, completely not mentioned anywhere logical) to find out what that google download location is for everyone that would like to see ALL the downloads in that google download area. I hope i'm making sense - i'm writing about it because i absolutely could NOT find archived versions before you send me that link directly.

    ah.. i understand now

    just checked and it was pointing to an old style link

    i've now updated the code and it'll be in our beta 2 release - due out in a week or so

    - i've now added a link in the FAQs in the wiki to a page with all the required info
