I understand SI's goal is not to be a full on accounting system, but it would be very nice to have a report that states the overall sales by month. Even though I don't need a fancy graph, it would be nice to see a turnover/month table. If this takes two hours to implement, I'm willing to pay AU$100, if it is released in the general version.

Maybe I'm asking too much, but how about a slight change to the "reports" menu?
I would find it more logical if it was structured this way:

    Overall Sales
    -total
    -by customer
    -by month (new requested feature)

    Product Sales
    -by product
    -by customer

    Biller Sales
    -by biller
    -by customer

    Debtors
    -by amount owed
    -by aging periods
    -total owed per customer
    -total by aging periods

    Tax

reasoning behind this: invoicing is all about sales, so this should come first. Grouping the 3 sales reports on the top. Then Debtors, then Tax. It means the current menu with 7 options is reduced to 5, but with more depth, as every main menu option has sub-options. I find it confusing that the current menu sometimes has 'sub'options and sometimes not (eg sales+ vs debtors+) No plus sign for menu options that do not have a deeper level could be another way of making that distinction.

    Hey Kai,

this report is done and checked into svn in ./branches/nextrelease

its called "Monthly Sales and Payments per year"

it gives you a break down of both sales and payments received per month per year with total for the years aswell

    let me know your thoughts

    Cheers

    Justin
