I have been using the application since March 2011 and it is used to create about 50-60 invoices every other month. In the database, there are 508 total invoices issued, 630 invoice items and 434 payments.

Starting last summer SimpleInvoices became sluggish. The user who handles invoicing started complaining that it took a minute or so to email out each invoice. In the fall, he said that increased to two minutes. Yesterday, when he ran the invoices, it took three minutes to mail out each invoice.

It now takes two minutes to display the default "invoices" screen after you sign on.

Once this screen is displayed, other screens -- like payments or sales reports or products -- display quickly.

I gave the stats in the DB above and nothing looks out of line -- the entire DB is 346.3 kilobytes and there are only 1990 records in the entire thing. I dumped it out via phpMyAdmin and it looks fine. I can query the DB via MyAdmin and it responds quickly.

Any ideas as to why this is happening? The invoice guy says he's going to quit if I don't fix this, so I need some answers pretty quick.

I also change the invoice template so It display the custome Invoice Field.
Now the problem is,I can't see the custome Field in the manage page.

But it doesn't pick up the customeField data.

The really great thing about Simple Invoices is that it is SO simple to use.

But not to modify (for me yet, anyway)...

Please help me change the Statement of Invoices report as follows:

1. Remove Biller from the invoice lines

2. Remove Customer from the invoice lines

3. Insert custom field - Invoice :: Custom field 1 (called 'Invoice brief description' by me) into the invoice lines

4. Insert custom field - Invoice :: Custom field 2 (called 'Account Executive' by me) into the invoice lines

5. Print a statements for a range of customers or for all customers for a given biller.

let's say I sell a green box. I have in stock 3 green box, I sell 1 green box so when I issue the invoice my stock will automatically decrees of 1. This is OK, it works like this already.
Now let's say I sell a "special green box" that is another article with another code. The special green box consist in 1 green box, 1 small plastic ball inside the box and 1 pencil inside the box.
So, when I sell the "special green box" I would like my stock automatically decrees of:
1 green box;
1 small plastic ball;
1 pencil.
Is it possible?

If my question was answered elsewhere, then my apologies. Here is what I found today: I use the quick search under Money / Invoices and do a search for invoice number 1 though to 20 with no problems, but above 20, it brings the number + 1? I'll try to explain:

In Quick Search I type number 23 and invoice ID return is 24? similarly, I enter invoice number 24 and 25 is return.

The only way round this is to edit the database table directly which I suspect is not something that most people would want to do.

I've been working on integrating flot with simple invoices so that report data can be displayed in graphs. The first stage has been successful and now data is interpreted in a graph on the dashboard.
The update has still got a bit of work to be done on it and I plan to integrate this with the individual reports in the not-to-distant future.

In the meantime I've set it up on one of my development sites, feel free to go and have a look. The database is just full of sample data so feel free to add/edit/delete invoices to test it out.

Currently if I make a Quote it appears as an Invoice and is 'Due'. If the customer does not want the work done, I have to go into the Quote=Invoice
and 'Zero' it to get a true total. Same for Statement.

But I really don't know what to set it at to make the pdf's come out 100%.

I have to implement reminders for open Invoices because some customers will need them soon.

Is there anything done right now?

I think of implementing this:

* adding "Reminder preferences" under Settings
(I think I will not have time to implement the settings dialog, I will first edit the database scheme according to it by hand. Maybe someone could make the Website-thingy in the meanwhile)
Here people should be able to define "Reminder Stages" like that
nr | title | days overdue | reminder charge | interest (%)
1 | "Friendly reminder" | 20 | 0.00 | 0
2 | "Second reminder" | 10 | 10.00 | 9.00
3 | "Last reminder before collection" | 10 | 10.00 | 9.00
(this will be saved in a new table (si_reminder_prefs?))

the above example means:
Send a friendly reminder after 20 days overdue, and do not calculate any charge nor interest for it (see the zeros in the above example).
After another ten days send a second reminder, billing 10EUR charge and 9% (per year, calculated for the days since the bill date) on the sum of the bills
Then after another 10 days ... (you see it above).

Detail of implementation:
I will introduce a new field in the invoices table referencing to another invoice (this will be the reminder, which is nothing than a special bill. The two amounts of the reminder bill are just the charge and the interest, the original bill stays intact with the original value.
The calculations of the interest are a bit complex (on the second and further stage)
- because it has to consider different days between the original bill and any reminder already sent out
- and it also has to consider previous interests whoes interest rates may not be doubled on the second and further stage.
Anyhow - I'm able to do this ;-)

* under "Money" adding a new menu point "Reminders"
This should show a list of overdue bills (in different reminder stages). Here is an action per customer to create an reminder "bill". This includes every overdue bill this customer has.
* a new template for Reminders (could also be implemented in the invoice template, but it's easier to manage seperatly). I also want to have another look for my reminders so that customers see that it isn't a normal bill

* under Money - Payments - Process payment:
** 1:
regardless if a original invoice or a reminder was searched:
show a table of all related bills with their amounts
show a sum of all amounts
highlight the searched bill or reminder (to show the user which one he searched for)
** 2:
process a payment by dividing the amount to all "bills", beginning with the original bill

* Links to the new functionalities everywhere
I will do them where I need them right now. Someone could finish my work here ;-)

(This is my current plan, implementation could differ slightly)

(At least, the HTML-based print preview didn’t look that way. Maybe the export to PDF is a different story, but that functionality isn’t available to me.)

Since a template needs a name, I named this invoice template after my home state for now. I’m sure it’s not perfect, but it’s well-suited to my needs. Let me know if there are things that could be improved. You can download the files here:
